What are Best Brackets used for?
Best Brackets are designed to create the 150mm slab rebate used in brick-veneer construction. They hold the formwork securely in place so concreters can achieve a clean, consistent rebate every time
What’s the difference between the steel and aluminium kits?
Both kits contain everything needed to complete a standard slab, but each material has its own advantages:
- Steel Kits – Made from 3 mm steel; strongest, most durable option; ideal for larger slabs or heavy-duty commercial work.
- Aluminium Kits – Made from 3 mm aluminium; lightweight and rust-resistant; perfect for coastal regions or builders wanting easier handling and transport
Are the brackets reusable?
Yes. All Best Brackets components are reusable across multiple jobs. The aluminium range is especially resistant to corrosion, making it ideal for long-term use in any environment.
How many brackets do I need for a slab?
The kits are designed for medium residential slabs, typically around 180–250 m² (steel) or 180–240 m² (aluminium), depending on the project.
For larger areas, you can supplement your kit with individual brackets.
Can I buy additional or replacement brackets individually?
Absolutely. All components - rebate brackets, joining brackets, and corner brackets - are available individually so you can top up your kit or replace parts as needed.

Yes. Best Brackets were designed and developed by NSW builder Ian Dunn, based on years of hands-on experience building homes in regional Australia

Yes. We ship Australia wide, with free shipping on our Aluminium and Steel kits. For individual pieces, shipping will be calculated at checkout.
